Frequently Asked Questions

  • This requires consideration of many things including:  the age of your system, maintenance history, cost, and how long you plan to stay in the space.
  • You may consider replacing your system when it is more than 10 years old, is requiring frequent repairs, or you have noticed high energy bills.

Our estimator will come evaluate your space factoring in size, windows, insulation, attic/basement conditions, and house orientation.  All of these factors will allow the estimator to perform calculations that will ensure the proper equipment is chosen for your space.  Equipment that is too large or too small for the space can cause issues, which is why estimates cannot be given based solely on the square footage of a home.

After a quote is accepted, we will order the necessary equipment and schedule a date for our installation crew to come out and remove the existing system and install and check operation of the new system.

Most manufacturers offer 10 year parts warranty on new systems for residential installation and 1 year labor warranty.  In a commercial setting, a new unit usually comes with 1 year parts and 1 year labor warranty.  Individual replacement parts carry varying warranties dependent on the part.  Please see warranty information for your part with your estimate.

We highly recommend routine maintenance of your system to ensure it is running efficiently and that you get the most life out of your investment.  Heating and cooling systems are a large investment comprised of many parts.  Just like a car, these parts need regular attention to maintain operation and not cause damage to the system’s operation.

Maintenance can be performed at any time, however the optimal time to perform it is twice annually, prior to heating and cooling season.  In our area, this means a “spring service” and “fall service” would be optimal, allowing us to check your system over for any issues and ensure it is functioning at it’s peak performance for the intense use during summer and winter months.

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio is the ratio of cooling in BTU to the energy consumed in watt-hours.  The higher the number, the more efficient the unit is rated.  The lowest number allowed by government standards is now 14.
